Experience
I attended the University of Mary Washington, where I earned my B.A. in Political Science, focusing on Women in Congress. I tutored and mentored with Big Brothers Big Sisters, where I worked closely to enrich youth and build self-esteem in academic and non-academic settings. I also worked as a team leader at the Quantum Learning Network, where I helped small groups of middle and high school students to build better study and organization skills. Working with QLN, we were encouraged to make learning fun, and implement educating strategies that promoted both entertainment and mastery. I taught summer school classes for 7th graders in reading, grammar, and comprehension. I come from a long line of teachers, having parents and grandparents who taught English. Their passion for English and education was passed down to me, and I find writing, grammar, mechanics, and reading to be my favorite subjects to teach. I'm also interested in Government and History as a result of my personal academic career. I believe that every person enjoys learning, even if they don't realize it. This is a truth that guides my teaching. I try to meet every student from their personal vantage point, so they come to enjoy what they're learning, while also meeting their goals and gaining new skills. I'm currently enrolled in law school, and I love to bake, watch Netflix, and shop.
