I have tutored students related to friends and family, primarily in the fields of Mathematics (Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, Calculus) and Science (Physics, Chemistry). To be of assistance in the learning process of a young person, to help him/her be more competent in an interactive, friendly, one-on-one setting that is quite different from a classroom is why I wish to be a private tutor. My tutelage, distinct from the milieu of a classroom, would be vital to the learning process where the student in a personal setting would be better able to explore alternative ways of thinking and learning, as well as be able to qualitatively and quantitatively assess his/her strength and deficiencies. It is also personally rewarding to me when I can impart to others what I know, and in the process, help them gain confidence in themselves and in their abilities. As a tutor, I wish others to see what I can see, and that's an experience I find infinitely joyful and rewarding. I have over 30 years of experience working in various professional organizations (finance, banking, IT, Fed govt, manufacturing, etc.). This experiential knowledge combined with my educational qualifications gives me the confidence to pursue my tutoring vocation - to help augment and complement the learning imparted to a student in a classroom.

Hobbies
Books, music, my family, and people are my interests that define me in so many ways. I love movies, flying was a hobby (till it turned too expensive!), and traveling when and where I can remains an exhilarating, rewarding experience for the well-being of the soul. I also love to write, and do so a lot when the mind frees itself of constraints of time and ideas. I am very fond of and good at racket sports such as tennis, badminton and table-tennis. I enjoy music very much - it's my soul-cleanser - and my leanings here too is very eclectic in genres, languages and ethnicity. I am a US citizen having immigrated to the US in 1991. I am married, been living in Virginia since 1996, though my career path has traversed I-95 from Connecticut and southward. I grew up in a family of 5 siblings and parents who despite their poverty, and against all odds, strove to provide us with good education while instilling the best possible values of honesty, integrity and humility. It is those values that I fiercely cherish and that which defines my incentives to be a tutor to those I may have the ability to help.
